Terms & Disclaimer
Last updated: 17 May 2026.
These terms cover your use of the calculators and guides on this site. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Free to use
The calculators and guides are provided free of charge for your own personal and business use. You are welcome to use the results in your own work, plans and decisions, and to share links to the pages. You may not, however, scrape the site at scale, mirror it, rebrand it, or republish the calculators or articles as your own work, whether or not for profit. The tools and written content remain the intellectual property of the site operator.
Accurate, but general information — not professional advice
Accuracy is the entire point of this site, and we take it seriously. The calculators apply standard, well-established formulas; the underlying calculation for each tool is a single, isolated function covered by automated tests that check it against independently hand-worked results, and that same tested function is what runs in your browser. Every calculator page also sets out its method in plain English and includes a fully worked numeric example, so you can reproduce and check the result yourself rather than take it on trust.
Despite that, the tools and guides provide general information, not professional advice. They cannot see your full circumstances and they make simplifying assumptions that are stated on each page. Nothing on this site is financial, tax, accounting, investment or legal advice, and using it does not create any professional or advisory relationship between you and the site operator. The calculators deliberately stay on the operational side of business maths — break-even, margins, cash flow, rates, returns — precisely because those formulas are stable and unambiguous; they do not, and are not intended to, replace advice that depends on rules or facts specific to you.
For any decision with material financial, tax or legal consequences, treat the output as a well-reasoned starting point and confirm it with a suitably qualified professional who knows your specific situation before you act on it.
No warranty and limitation of liability
The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work to keep the calculators correct and the site available, we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose, or that results will meet your requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site operator accepts no liability for any loss or damage — including lost profits, lost savings, or business losses — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the calculators or content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. If you believe a calculator has produced an incorrect result, please tell us — see Contact below — as correcting errors matters more to us than anything else here.
Advertising and affiliate links
The site may display third-party adverts and may contain affiliate links to third-party software (for example, accounting tools). Where a link is an affiliate link we say so on the page, and we may earn a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. We only include such a link where the product is genuinely relevant to that calculation, and an affiliate or advertising arrangement never changes a calculator's maths, its result, or what it suggests. How advertising and affiliate cookies work, and your choices over them, are explained in the Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms and your use of the site are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above will reflect any change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
